SNS February 2008 Report: East Coast Park to Vivocity

Report by Jon Wong
Our SNS in February saw us travelling from our outlet in East Coast Park to VivoCity at HarbourFront.
Skaters had a choice to pick a longer route by starting from East Coast Park, and a shorter route from Cenotaph Memorial at the Esplanade Park. This time round, we welcomed approximately 50 skaters from the public. Some were familiar faces and old friends, and some were joining us for the first time.
Our SAVs on duty, Darren, David, Raymond and Leonard, along with 2 new ICP Certified Instructors: Mike & Rudy, were on hand to help marshal the skaters along.

We took a familiar route from Ford Rd to Tanjong Rhu Rd, past the bridge to the Indoor Stadium area, and carried on along Nicole Highway until we reached Suntec City area and eventually, the Esplanade Park.
Our instructors, Faussi & Ivan were there to gather the 2nd batch of approximately 10 skaters and they joined us as we carried on with our journey. We proceeded past the One Fullerton Hotel, Raffles Place MRT station, Lau Pat Sat Food Centre(where we had a short break) and onto Keppel Rd.
From then on it was a direct journey as we travelled from Keppel Rd to Keppel Way. VivoCity was pretty near once we transited into Keppel Way, past the PSA.
The entire journey took us approximately 3 hours to complete. Bus transport service was available to fetch the skaters back to East Coast Park.
It was really great to see such a huge support from skaters all over, and to complete the entire journey together.
Be sure to look out for our SNS in March!
