Report for Junior Holiday Skate Camp

Report by Jon Wong
Skateline Instructor

The last quarter of 2009 saw 4 skate camps being conducted during the December Holidays. It was the first time in our history. Every week we welcome students aged 4 and above, from new faces to regular supporters.

The 3-day camp was held around the Bishan Park 2 area, and provided the opportunity for children to gather and learn inline skating together, and a platform for them to socialise with each other. Beginners picked up basic skills and intermediate skaters had their go at urban skating in the park.

The occasional poor weather conditions were disappointing, but that did not dampen our spirits as we relocated to the nearby multi-storey carpark to continue the programme.

This programme was proven to be a success. All the children were able to skate by the end of the 3rd day. They were able to play simple games, and some even took on Roller Football and Treasure Hunt in the park.

We wish to thank all the parents and guardians for their support in our programme and also extend our gratitute to the following instructors for making the camp possible:
Leonard, Mike, Ivan, Albert, Faussi & David.

Many wonderful moments were captured and you can view them here. All pictures courtesy from Leonard, Faussi & me.

See you at the next camp in 2010!
