Report on 2nd Skate Assist Volunteers Recruitment-cum-Training

By Jon Wong

We have recently completed our 2nd SAV recruitment exercise on the 28th of June, Saturday, at our skating rink in Bishan Park 2. The response was very encouraging, and saw 22 new graduates joining our SAV community.

Throughout the 4 hour session, the graduates were taught on the important skills and knowledge as required of an SAV, to assist and guide skaters during skating activities. Advice was given by our SAV Trainers to polish up their skills The basics and theory were followed by an Urban Training Session, a first of its kind for our recruitment exercise, where graduates learn to tackle different types of terrain and situations.

It was very encouraging to see some young skaters, passing their training and becoming junior SAVs. At a young age, they have a chance to put their skating skills to good use, and a mission to assist lead other junior skaters by example in the future.

Skateline wishes to congratulate and following new graduates and welcome them into the SAV family.
